Bringing Hope and Healing to Communities and Schools

There are many life experiences that can produce feelings of grief in a child. To then watch that child or someone you love struggle with those emotions and not know what to do with them is profoundly difficult for us as parents, teachers, and caregivers. Thankfully, there are guidelines for helping children develop a lifelong healthy response to loss.

Helping Children with Loss is the program that practically and thoughtfully lays out those invaluable guidelines .

The majority of adults feel powerless when it comes to helping a child or teen navigate the pain of loss and grief. This 4-session program is specifically designed to equip parents and those who work with children with the essential tools to help youth effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.

Helping Students: Grief support and Training
when and where it’s Needed the most

Here are just a few of the ways I can serve you, but of course, I’m happy to tailor any program to meet your specific needs.

Engaging Student
Assembly Programs

Me and my inspiring team offer a powerful student assembly program that has been trusted by nearly 1000 public schools over the past 20 years. In this impactful assembly, we interact and connect with students by sharing our own personal experiences of loss and grief, helping them see that they’re not alone in their emotions and struggles.

We’ll explore the 40 different types of grief that young people can face, uncovering the often-hidden emotional pain they might be carrying. By addressing how unresolved grief can lead to destructive behaviors like addiction, self-harm, and looking for love in wrong places, we aim to empower students with the tools to navigate their challenges and encourage them to reach out when they need the help and support.

Group Support for Schools and Communities

I offer a 45-60 minute presentation tailored for school administration, educators and/or community organizations. This interactive session emphasizes the importance of understanding and addressing grief among children and teens, setting a powerful intention for the work ahead.

For schools and community groups seeking deeper engagement and training, I offer the Helping Children with Loss program as a  group workshop in four sessions, however it works best for your team. These informative sessions, delivered in person or online, provide actionable tools and insights to effectively support students during their most challenging times.

1-on-1 and
Online Support

In addition to group sessions, I also provide 1-on-1 support for educators, counselors, and caregivers who need personalized guidance in implementing grief recovery techniques. This can be done in person or online, offering flexible options to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Whether you’re a parent needing guidance on how to support their hurting child,  a teacher facing a grieving classroom or an administrator working with a struggling student, these tailored sessions are designed to strengthen your ability to offer meaningful and helpful support in times of need.
